“I believe there is no Liturgy in the world, either in ancient or modern language, which breathes more of a solid, scriptural, rational piety than the Common Prayer of the Church of England.” John Wesley

Early Methodism was an Anglican renewal movement that was founded by John and Charles Wesley who were both priests in the Church of England.  It was the Wesley’s Anglican heritage that helped fuel the deep spirituality and rapids growth of the early Methodist revival. The same Spirit of renewal and mission that fueled early Methodism is still burning today.

Aldersgate Mission Society (AMS) is a dispersed community of clergy and laity who are committed to a rule of life that is inspired by the Wesleyan way of spiritual formation and mission. AMS seeks to provide a place for Methodist clergy and churches who are seeking to join the Anglican Church in North America.

John Wesley once said, “If your heart is as my heart then take my hand.”
